March Favourites 2016!

Hi all!

Welcome to another monthly favourites post! It has been a busy, yet enjoyable March for me. If you are reading this, I am currently in Taiwan with my mum and sister. Continue reading to see what I have been loving lately!

THE BEST OF MARCH:

1.) Vegan Treat – PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter

PB2, where have you been all my life? I finally got to try this wonderful creation in March and now I can’t use anything else! This product is American, so it’s harder to come by in Australia. For this reason, I ordered a box of 12 packets online from iHerb, which I’ve linked underneath the picture. The best thing about this product, is it’s so low in fat, but still tastes incredibly good. You simply mix the powder with water and you’ve got creamy PB! I like to add it to my nice cream, oats or just on bread, with bananas and cinnamon on top. If you love PB, but avoid it because it’s too fatty or oily, this is a healthy alternative!

2.) T.V Show – The 100

This is a show that is about three seasons in, but Francis and I only just started watching it. I am a big fan of the post-apocalyptic genre and this show does it really well. Basically, after a nuclear Armageddon destroys all civilisation on Earth, a space-station named The Ark, sends down 100 criminals to survey the land and make sure it is habitable once again. What they find however, tests the survivors in dangerous ways. Needless to say, I’m hooked!

3.) Book – Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

Cassandra Clare is a famous author well known for her Shadowhunter Chronicles, which spans many novels. The series became so popular, she wrote additional books set in different locations, with new characters. The Shadowhunter Chronicles was set in New York, but her latest series, The Dark Artifices, is set in Downtown L.A. It introduces fresh faces that intermingle with old ones along the way. I could not wait for Lady Midnight to be released. I pre-ordered this book and it finally arrived last month for me to sink my teeth into! I highly recommend checking out Cassandra Clare. She creates magical worlds, in-depth story-lines and lovable characters. Not only that, Shadowhunters is now a television series that you can watch on Netflix. I’m really enjoying watching the story come to life on screen. If you love a world full of vampires, demons, warlocks, werewolves, faeries and other mystical beings, you are going to love Cassandra’s novels. Check her out, you won’t be sorry!

4.) Fashion Item – Vegan Leather Shoes from Global House of Fashion

My mum sent me a Groupon for these boots, so I had to buy them. It’s currently Autumn here in Melbourne and these beautiful, natural toned boots give me that seasonal feel. I really like their unique look and the fact that they are cruelty-free!

5.) Beauty Product – Dr Bronner’s Pure-Castile Soap: Lavender

As mentioned in a previous post, I am slowly transitioning to a more minimalistic lifestyle. Dr Bronner’s sells these wonderful 18-In-1, Hemp Pure-Castile Soaps that have multiple purposes! I primarily use it as a body wash in the shower, but you can use it on your face and even around the house. Last time I bought their Rose Hemp scent but this time, I tried the Lavender. It is so calming and gentle on my skin. 100% vegan, cruelty-free and fair trade, I cannot recommend Dr Bronner’s enough. They sell many more products, so check them out!

6.) Exercise – HIIT Workouts by Christine Salus

I discovered Christine Salus last month and have been getting into her regular HIIT workouts on YouTube. HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training, so you are definitely left sweating and sore after a workout! Christine is such a lovely person, as well as a vegan, so she makes plenty of yummy ‘What I Eat in a Day’ videos. I am planning to start her 6 Week Fitness Challenge soon. Check her out!

7.) App – 94%

94% is the only game I have on my phone and I absolutely love it! I’m already up to level 200 and the game just keeps growing! Seriously, if you haven’t downloaded it yet, do it. It’s perfect to play with somebody or whenever you want to exercise your brain. Basically, you’ll get a picture like the one on the far left or a category like ‘something that is blue’ and you need to type in responses that other people who were surveyed beforehand answered (like the pic on the far right). It is so addictive! You can even create your own to go into the next upgrade. Try and finish all of the levels without using your coins!

8.) Memory – Best Moment of March 2016

My favourite moment in March, was the publication of my second novel, Facing the Stars! You are welcome to pick up a copy by clicking on the link, however, it is the sequel to Astrology Pond, so it is advised you read the first one to understand the story. I absolutely love the sequel. Facing the Stars has such a beautiful cover and a more in-depth storyline. I love looking at my books side by side on my chest of drawers. To know I’ve created a world, characters and story through writing, fills me with absolute joy. I want to share it with the world!

I hope you enjoyed my March favourites! Once again, it is always a pleasure to share what I was loving, doing, eating, reading and more every single month. Please let me know if you enjoyed it and I’ll see you for the April edition!

Peace and Love xoxo
