Hi all!
Welcome back to The Ultimate Reading Challenge! I outlined in 2022 how the new series will work here, so check that out before progressing further. For my fifth challenge, I gifted The Hating Game by Sally Thorne to my mother. I LOVE this book and my mum did too. I’m also going to share my personal signed copy, thoughts on the novel/movie adaptation and my prize for completing the prompt. Without further ado, let’s get into it!
Spoilers Ahead!
Plot: ‘The Hating Game’ by Sally Thorne:
Resolving to achieve professional success without compromising her ethics, Lucy embarks on a ruthless game of one-upmanship against cold and efficient nemesis, Joshua, a rivalry complicated by her growing attraction to him.
Review: ‘The Hating Game’ by Sally Thorne:
The Hating Game is everything you could ever want or need in a book. If you are down, or in a slump, read it. You’ll fly through it. It’s saucy, steamy and so damn good. It has one of my favourite tropes: enemies to lovers. Hot! Hot! Hot!
I am so grateful to my friend for getting me a signed copy from the author herself – see below.
Review: ‘The Hating Game’ Film Adaptation:
I don’t have much to say about the film adaptation. It’s practically identical to the book. The casting was excellent. Lucy Hale played the perfect Lucy Hutton. Everything I had pictured in my head whilst reading the novel, was translated onto the screen flawlessly.
Prize For Completing The Challenge:
My prize for completing the prompt were these adorable gift tags. One has a pile of books and the other, a cat with glasses. I am definitely going to use them.
Thank you so much for reading! I will see you next month for a new bookish challenge!
Peace & Love xoxo
