In February, I outlined how my new project –A Haunted Guide to Maryborough– will work, so please check that out before continuing further. My first post for 2024 was an interview I conducted with the owner ofThe Haunted Doll Museumin Maryborough, Queensland. You can read thathere. For my second post, I’m sharing a photo-diary of my Ghost Hunt experience at the very same building. I recommend reading the first post for context before continuing with this one. Without further ado, let’s get into it!
I attended the event on the 24th of February from 7:30pm – 10:30pm. This was my witchy ‘The Craft‘ vibes outfit. The Haunted Doll Museum was beautifully lit at night. We were all given the liberty to walk around without supervision.Candles illuminated the hallway. The night was dark and stormy. I was in my element! Our senses were heightened! These photos don’t do the place justice. My favourite part was just being able to explore at my own will.We were given the opportunity to write something we wanted to let go of on paper and burn it in the outside brazier. The lovely owners gave us free ghost cookies! Adorable and such a great touch! The reflection of Pennywise is everything! We were given free rein to explore the upstairs living quarters. Walking the second-storey wraparound balcony at night, whilst it stormed, was a moment I will never forget.Did I see any ghosts? Unfortunately not, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t witness paranormal activity! Read on!The ghost sensors went off at random moments, letting us know the building was charged with spiritual activity!I know it’s hard to see but the outdoor chapel had the most activity. I saw one of the sensors rocking wildly and nobody was touching it!Our first group activity involved asking the spirits questions and playing back the recordings to listen for answers. In the static feedback, we heard a voice say ‘mmhmm‘ in response to: “do you like this group of people?”Our second activity involved a spirit box and headphones. Through the static feedback, we listened for key words to jump out at us. Unfortunately, nothing came through.Lastly, Scott fromQueensland’s Most Haunted, used this app to show the outlines of spirits. I could see two figures in the corner of the massage room (pictured above). Furthermore, that particular area was very cold.
Thank you so much for reading! I apologise for the dark images. I can confidently say after the interview and ghost-hunt, the building is definitely haunted. This was such a fun experience and one I would do again. Stay tuned, because next time, I will be sleeping at ahaunted hotel…
