Hi all!
Today I want to discuss why I love Sticker Art so much. This hobby brings me so much joy. It’s exactly what it sounds like. You are given an image filled with numbers and have to place the corresponding sticker to the figure(s). When it’s complete, you have a beautiful picture you pieced together. Without further ado, let’s get into it!
1.) Sticker Art is Relaxing
The process of placing one sticker at a time to create a visually stunning, finished product is so relaxing. It’s like a form of meditation. I love lying in bed, putting on some music and starting a fresh page. It is such a great way to unwind. The image below is from the ‘Sticker Therapy’ brand. I was present the entire time I put together this symmetrical tiger.
2.) Sticker Art Helps Develop Motor Skills
I recently wrote a post about ‘My Dyspraxia Diagnosis’, which is a developmental and coordination disability. Sticker Art has helped me work on those fine motor skills I struggle with. A lot of the stickers can be quite fiddly and small. They require concentration and careful placement. I am really thankful this activity I enjoy so much has also improved my hand-eye coordination. The image below is from the ‘Brain Games’ brand, which I highly recommend.
3.) Sticker Art is Fun
Sticker Art is so fun! There are many different themes and categories you can buy. My absolute favourite brand is ‘Paint by Sticker.’ I have completed every single issue they have released. The image below is from their ‘Travel’ edition. They have perforated edges, so you can tear them out at the end. I’ve pasted all of mine in large scrapbooks. They feel like my mini masterpieces.
4.) Sticker Art is for All Ages
My daughter loves to do Sticker Art with me. It has also improved her fine motor skills and helped with counting. You can buy books designed for children, but kids can easily help with the adult editions. It is such a nice bonding activity and highly recommended for a rainy day. Abigail assisted me with the jellyfish below.
5.) Sticker Art is a Form of Creativity
If you don’t feel like you possess a single creative bone in your body, Sticker Art can remedy that. You don’t have to be a painter, designer or illustrator to take part in this hobby. You are still creating every single time you place a sticker on the page. There is nothing more satisfying than finishing an image, containing hundreds of tiny pieces. It’s like doing a jigsaw puzzle! I am particularly fond of the autumn leaf I completed below.
Thank you so much for reading! Have you ever tried Sticker Art?
Peace & Love xoxo
