Hi all!
Today I am reviewing the Dubai Pistachio Chocolate Bar! This sweet treat recently went viral on TikTok. All of a sudden, every man and his dog were tasting it and even making it. It is made with milk chocolate, pistachios and knafeh – a crispy, shredded filo pastry. The moment it took off, it was no longer exclusive to Dubai. You can now order it from around the world. I am going to share where I purchased it, for how much, if there is a plantbased option, if I recommend it and whether it was worth the cost. Without further ado, let’s get into it!
WHERE DID YOU ORDER IT FROM?
I ordered mine from a place in Sydney, NSW called Cafe on Haig. I purchased the Dubai Pistachio Chocolate but you can also get Kinder Bueno, Nutella, Caramilk & Biscoff from them. If you’re in the area, you can pick up from their store, but get in quickly before the daily batch are gone! I discovered this cafe via TikTok, where you can actually watch them make the blocks. That’s how I knew what I was buying was authentic. As you can see, the bar itself is HUGE. I definitely didn’t eat it all in one sitting.
HOW MUCH WAS IT?
It was $15 a bar. However, with shipping + dry ice included, it came to $30. I know that might seem extreme, but it was the cheapest option I found (aside from making it myself). The majority of retailers sell them for between $45 – $65. Crazy! If you want to recreate it at home, you can buy cheap moulds from Amazon here.
WAS IT WORTH IT?
I don’t normally jump aboard viral trends but pistachio is one of my favourite flavours. When I saw a bar like this existed, I had to get my hands on it. I put mine in the fridge immediately after it was delivered, because it had started to go soft. The next day, I tried it cold and that was a mistake. It didn’t have the same creaminess as the videos online. The next piece I broke off, I microwaved for 50 seconds and it was PERFECT. So soft, creamy and gooey. The knafeh adds such a satisfying, crunchy texture. The chocolate itself was nice and rich but the filling was the true star of the show.
IS IT VEGAN?
My particular block wasn’t but you can purchase a vegan interpretation here or make them plant-based via this recipe. I normally avoid dairy at all costs but to be perfectly transparent, I haven’t been vegan in years. I decided to try an authentic one for the full experience.
DO YOU RECOMMEND IT?
I absolutely recommend it but don’t go crazy with your spending. Try to find a more reasonably priced block or make it yourself. I think everyone should try it at least once.
Thank you so much for reading! Have you tried this product before?
Peace & Love xoxo
