Hi all!
Welcome back to The Ultimate Reading Challenge! I outlined in 2022 how the new series will work here, so check that out before progressing further. For my 25th and FINAL challenge, the task was to read a book much longer than usual. I decided to go with 11.22.63 by Stephen King. It was a whopping 740 pages! Today I am sharing my thoughts on the book, plus my prize for completing the prompt. Without further ado, let’s get into it!
Plot: ‘11.22.63’ by Stephen King:
An unassuming, divorced English teacher stumbles upon a time portal that leads to September 9, 1958. There, he goes on a quest to try and prevent the assassination of John. F. Kennedy.
Review: ‘11.22.63 by Stephen King:
I don’t even have words to describe how wonderful, gripping and well-written this book is. I’m so glad I dedicated the entire month of January to savouring it. I have always been a sucker for time travel. Back to the Future is my favourite movie. Stephen King scratched that itch for me and then some! I truly believe he is one of the greatest writers of our lifetime. By the end, I was crying. I had lived many lives with Jake Epping. I went on a journey with him from 1958 to 1963. There is a strong message in this story that the past is obdurate and doesn’t like to be changed, but really, the past shouldn’t be changed. 11.22.63 isn’t just about the prevention of the Kennedy assassination. It’s a love story. It’s about choosing the same person over and over again, no matter the consequences. My first read of 2025 will absolutely be my favourite of the year. In that, I am confident.
Prize For Completing The Challenge:
My prize for completing the prompt were these cute bookish labels. I will absolutely use them!
Thank you so much for reading and sticking with me during this challenge. Feel free to challenge yourself!
Peace & Love xoxo
