The Breath of the Wild Readathon – Round #4.0: The Main Quest (Vah Naboris) – My TBR!

Hi all!

Today I am back with a new round of The Breath of the Wild Readathon created by Caz from Little Book Owl and Red from Little Red Reader.

If you’re a huge Zelda fan like me, you are going to love this series of readathons based on the award-winning game: The Breath of the Wild. As you can see by the title, we are now embarking on the fourth month-long, main quest, to take down the Divine Beast: Vah Naboris. This readathon is running from January 15th – February 15th. Without further ado, let’s get into it!

THE RULES

Like the last main quest, you need to pick a team from those listed below. Each team grants a unique perk – you may only use once during the round – to aid your readathon. Your options are:

Team Mipha: One book on your TBR can be used to complete two challenges.

Team Daruk: One partially completed book can count towards a challenge.

Team Revali: Instead of drawing a Blood Moon Card, read any book of your choice.

Team Urbosa: You can swap out one challenge from your path, with one from another team (any prompt, except Vah Naboris).

I’m once again going with Team Mipha because the perk and challenges suit my TBR best. Once you’ve picked yours, refer to the map above to source your reading prompts. Unless you’re on Team Revali, you’ll have to pick up a Blood Moon Card, with a random prompt to complete. There are also three optional challenges you can take. Warriors are to complete the challenges in order of their team’s path, starting at Rito Village and ending at the Divine Beast: Vah Naboris. If you obtained the glider in the mini-round, you can complete the reading challenges in any order you wish. If you didn’t, you need to complete the challenges in path order.

THE CHALLENGES – TEAM MIPHA

1.) Rito Village – Read a book with white or grey on the cover.

For this prompt, I’m going to read The Housemaid by Frieda McFadden. I own the movie cover edition; featuring Amanda Seyfried wearing white.

2.) Blood Moon Card – Use the random card generator to select a reading prompt.

I picked up Fairy Fountain: Read a book with a beautiful cover. I’m going to pick up Better in Black by Cassandra ClareIt is gorgeous!

3.) Thundra Plateau – Read a 2025 release.

For this prompt, I will read The Gingerbread Bakery by Laurie Gilmore. It came out in 2025 and is part of the Dream Harbor series.

4.) Outskirt Stable – Read a book with an animal companion or non-human characters.

I’m going to use my Team Mipha perk here and re-select Better in Black by Cassandra Clare. It features fae, warlocks, demons etc.

5.) Divine Beast: Vah Naboris – ‘EARTH’ buzzword – read a book with earth (or any related word) in the title.

For this prompt, I’m going with Joyland by Stephen King. It has land in the title. Earth? Land? Get it?

BONUS CHALLENGES (Optional)

I may or may not complete these bonus challenges. You’ll find out if I did in my wrap-up.

1.)  Sturnida Secret Hot Spring: read a new-to-you author.

2.) Great Plateau: read from a favourite author.

3.) South Lomei Labyrinth: participate in at least 1 ‘Fang & Bone’ challenge (hosted on the Discord).

Fang & Bone challenges are community prompts that will be announced without warning. They will be creative or fun things you can reply to, share in the Discord or post on your social channels. Follow the BotWathon X or join the Discord to be alerted when a challenge drops.

There are a few extra rules and guidelines discussed in the YouTube video, which you can check out here.

Let me know if you’re participating. Thanks for reading!

Peace & Love xoxo
