They Will Kill You – New Release Horror Movie Review!

Hi all!

Today I am reviewing new-release, horror: They Will Kill You. It hit cinemas this month, allowing me the opportunity of seeing it on the big screen. A woman answers a cryptic ad for a housekeeping job at a luxurious, yet foreboding, New York City high-rise. Upon arrival, she discovers the residents have vanished without a trace for decades, fuelling whispers of a satanic cult lurking in the shadows. Without further ado, let’s get into it!

WHAT WORKED:

They Will Kill You had everything I like in a film. It had plenty of homages to my favourite movie: Kill Bill. It was brilliantly paced all the way through. There were excellent amounts of gore, violence and moments of tension. Nothing was predictable. I never knew what was coming next. The needle drops were insane. The acting was perfection. The story was solid, with some genuinely surprising twists thrown in. I adored the setting. The look and vibe of The Virgil hotel was unique. I had a massive smile on my face from start to finish. Overall, it is the best horror I’ve seen in 2026 so far.

WHAT DIDN’T WORK:

I personally have nothing negative to say about They Will Kill You. However, some reviewers are not happy with how similar it is to Kill Bill and Ready Or Not. As massive fans of both those films, that didn’t bother me at all. I like that the director took inspiration from some of my favourite movies. It still made it its own and that’s what matters.

OVERALL STAR RATING:

I gave it 5/5 stars! I cannot fault it!

Have you seen They Will Kill YouWhat did you think of it?

Peace & Love xoxo
