Hi all!
For Christmas, my Mum bought me the Vegan Beauty Box (December’s Summer Edition), so I took it with me to Cairns to test all of the products. In this post, I’m going to provide a quick rundown of each item and discuss whether I found them worth it or not.

1.) HAPPY EYES: ANTI-WRINKLE EYE PATCHES

Valued at $24.95, the Happy Eyes – Anti Wrinkle Eye Patches caught my ‘eye’ first because of their unique packaging. To use, simply remove the patches and place them under your eyes. Relax for 20-30 minutes before gently removing. Wash your face with warm water. I found the patches to be ultra smooth and soft under my eyes. I don’t have wrinkles yet, but when I removed the patches after 30 minutes, the skin around my eyes looked brighter and much clearer. I would definitely recommend buying this product. I also love some of the natural ingredients on the packet, such as Rose Essential Oil and Seaweed. To top it all off, you feel like Lady Gaga wearing them!

2.) SUGARVENOM: PREMIUM FAUX EYELASHES

Valued at $12.95, this product was probably my least favourite in the box. The reason being, I’ve only ever worn fake eyelashes once in my life. They aren’t really for me. I will keep them however – maybe even wear them at my wedding. I like that this Korean brand is strictly against animal testing. They only use 2 plant based ingredients in the eyelashes, including a non-toxic glue. The company is currently working on producing a 100% natural, vegan eyelash glue, but for now, the one they have is devoid of common chemicals or beeswax.
3.) SAMBORA BEACH TOES: VIRGIN SAND SHADE

Valued at $18.95, this British brand offers many shades of nail polish, plus many other products. I was given the Virgin Sand shade, which is pure white. I painted my nails but found it looked a lot like wearing liquid paper. I guess I’m not a fan of white nail polish itself but I plan to keep it and put it on my toes next time. It was easy to apply, dried instantly and lasted several days. The shade is meant to represent white sand beaches and bright shells. It certainly has that oceanic feel to it. I really like this brand and enjoyed navigating their website.
4.) ETHIQUE BOMBSHELL: SELF TANNING BAR

Valued at $45.00, Ethique is based in Christchurch, New Zealand. The self-tanning bar is in the shape of a heart and smells absolutely amazing, with vanilla and cocoa butter as the main ingredients. It’s best to use it once you come out of the shower or 30 minutes after moisturising. Simply slide the bar up and down your legs, using your fingers to rub in the rest. I used it in the afternoon and noticed my usually pale legs become a little more bronzed and glowing. I’m going to keep using it all throughout summer, as it’s easy to apply and smells so damn good!
5.) FLORA REMEDIA: UPLIFTING TREATMENT

Valued at $24.95, the Flora Remedia range stocks all sorts of hair and body treatments. I was given the Uplifting Treatment, which is made from Coconut Oil, Sweet Orange, Clove Leaf, Sweet Fennel, Cinnamon Bark, Cardamom and Black Pepper. The floral essences used are Olive and Hornbeam. To use, simply roll over your pulse points, such as the inside of your wrists, temples and behind the ears. I can mainly smell the Sweet Orange and Cinnamon, when I apply it. It’s a really soothing product, used to balance moods. I can see myself continuing to use it regularly and buying more once I run out.
6.) THE LITTLE ALCHEMIST: WILD APPLE & MINT ANTIOXIDANT BALANCING MIST

Valued at $36.00, this product was my favourite in the Vegan Beauty Box. I’ve always wanted to own something from The Little Alchemist, so I was thrilled to receive this product. It was an absolute lifesaver during my fever. Just a couple of sprays helped cool my burning face. It includes Goji Berry, Gotu Kola (a herb that aids anxiety) and Bilberry Leaf. It smells beautiful and is suitable for all skin types. It’s recommended you spray after cleansing but before moisturising. Check out The Little Alchemist for lots more vegan beauty products.
I hope you enjoyed my Vegan Beauty Box review! Overall, I was really happy with my box and loved the diverse range of products I got to try! Even if you aren’t vegan, it is so much better to use products that are free from nasty chemicals and harsh ingredients. Go natural, go organic, go vegan!
