July 12th – What’s Inside My Fridge?

Hi all!

Welcome to Day 12 of my 31 Day Blogging Challenge in July! As you know, Francis and I are both vegan. We typically eat whole foods that are nutrient dense and filling. We did a fruit & vegetable shop on the weekend, so today I will share with you what we bought and what we currently have in our fridge & freezer:

I love the variety of colours in this picture! From left to right we picked up two kiwis, a punnet of blueberries, a bag of passion fruits (I love putting them on my warm oatmeal), a punnet of strawberries, a bunch of bananas (I don’t put these in the fridge), a pack of Brussels sprouts, a pack of carrots, one yellow capsicum, two dutch cream potatoes (also don’t go in the fridge), a packet of baby spinach and some fennel!

I also have a bag of dutch cream potatoes and sweet potatoes in my cupboard.

Here are all the sauces we keep in our fridge! Francis uses the hot sauces on the right and the rest I like to put in our curries and dinners. The Tamari Black Bean sauce on the far left is so good!

As you can see, I have crushed garlic, blackstrap molasses (very high in calcium) and crushed ginger. These are all essential in making sauces or for adding flavour to dishes!

Every morning for breakfast, Francis has Weetbix with soy milk, so these are all his. The good thing about this particular brand is it’s fortified with B-12. I rarely drink plant milks as I prefer to soak my oats in water but when I do, I love rice and oat milk!

It’s always a good idea to keep bags of frozen veggies stocked in your freezer. I keep chopped onions because cutting them myself is a crying disaster! I am in love with mint peas, so I make sure we have a bag handy & diced pumpkin is neat to throw into a curry or pasta dish. I just ran out of my frozen corn kernels but they are a big part of our meals as well!

These frozen meals from Amy’s kitchen are great for a quick fix! Please note not all of her products are vegan, so make sure to check! They are great for when you can’t be bothered cooking. The brands Fry’s & Linda McCartney also make great vegan frozen meals and products.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post. I’m glad it didn’t ask to show what was in our pantry, as that would be a very long blog post! Our fridge was actually quite sparse compared to how it is normally. What’s a staple in your fridge?

See you tomorrow! Peace & Love xoxo

  1. Mine is full of booze and pizzas. x

    1. I wonder who wrote this comment…Hahahaha that’s your food pyramid! X

  2. Loved the fridge tour, Bec. So healthy and so many sauces too. Veggies are also a staple in my fridge, especially the leafy kind. Those are so easy to cut – all you have to do is peel them apart to the size that you like 🙂 Sometimes I like chilled mango and coconut juice in my fridge 😀

    1. Thanks Mabel! I love coconut juice yum! And when the weather warms up more summer fruits will be in the fridge like mangoes, papayas, watermelons etc xx

  3. My fridge is usually full of veg (and beer), plus a jar of tempeh. Sometimes we buy seitan too. I use fresh ginger and garlic and chillies, so those are also in there. I’d forgotten about vegan worcester sauce, great in tomato juice. These days, we just add tabasco. Oh, usually lemons in my fridge as well, and olives and pickles. One of the good things about not eating animals is that it’s relatively cheap to eat.

    1. Yum! I love tempeh & seitan! Lemons is great as well to add to dishes and even infuse with water. There are so many wonderful things about not eating animals but yes it’s so cheap to eat whole plant foods! Thank you for stopping by!
