July 26th – Old Photographs Of Me!

Hi all!

Welcome to Day 26 of the 31 Day Blogging Challenge in July. I cannot believe it’s the last week! I’m a little sad but also looking forward to weekly posting, instead of daily. Also, yesterday’s post was my 100th! May there be many more to come.

Today, I’m going to be sharing a few old photographs of yours truly. Last weekend, I went back home to my mum’s and we pored over old photo albums, selecting some favourites. I love how quickly memories flood back when gazing at an image of the past. I hope you enjoy the ones I chose! I apologise for the poor quality!

This is me as a baby in my christening dress, sitting on my parents bed. My great grandmother, who was a brilliant seamstress, made it for my mother’s christening and then it was passed onto me. Very special! My mum still has it hidden away somewhere!

Here I’m about 4-5 years old, standing in my old grandparents house with my Nonno. I was very close with him. Today he would’ve been 90 years old. I miss you every single day Nonno. I wish you could’ve seen me get married this year.

This is me on my first day of Primary School! I went to Goonawarra Primary in Sunbury, where I grew up. In case you couldn’t tell, I was really excited! Even as a young girl, I wore headbands in my hair, which I still wear regularly today.

I was lucky enough to celebrate my 8th birthday in New York! Here is me and my sister standing in front of the Statue of Liberty. We spent the day exploring Ellis Island & at night, my family took me out for dinner in Little Italy. Funny story: my parents had pre-ordered me a birthday cake and when it arrived on the table, there was a slice missing!

I was incredibly fortunate to meet Debbie Reynolds at her show in Vegas with my family. Debbie Reynolds is Carrie Fisher’s mother (Princess Leia) but she is also a character in my all time favourite TV show: Will & Grace. She was so kind, funny and full of energy. I’ll never forget her warmth that evening.

When I was 15, my parents took me to China. I immediately fell in love with the country, only to return by myself years later. This is me on a scorching summers day, climbing The Great Wall in Beijing. I remember it being so hot. Funnily enough, when I returned to The Great Wall at 20, it was winter and I still struggled in the cold. It truly is a wonder to behold.

This is an iconic photo of me and my friends in Year 7 for my 13th birthday. We went bowling and to see a movie. What I love about this photo is that besides Matt (boy in the orange shirt), I am still best friends with Christine (or Graham as I call her) and Kenny!

Fast forward to our mid 20’s, where I am still hanging out with Graham & Kenny!

I hope you enjoyed some of my old photographs. I could’ve shared hundreds, but best to keep it short and sweet. Do you have any old photographs? What are your favourites?

See you tomorrow! Peace & Love xoxo

  1. I love these photos, Bec. I recognise you in all of them. I don’t have many photos of my childhood, but the ones that I have I cherish them. Always takes me on a trip down memory lane. Haha, believe it or not I was quite a fat baby and I was actually very tanned as a teenager 😀

    1. Thank you Mabel!! I would love to see baby photos of you! You would’ve been so cute!
