Hi all!
Welcome to my 2017 Blogging Challenge! I am a complete Disnerd. Even as an adult, I still re-watch the movies regularly and find it all so magical. As a tribute to the Beauty and the Beast live action film that came out in March and to Aladdin the Musical, which I am seeing in May, I decided to dedicate the next 30 days to one of my favourite things in the world: DISNEY!
Day 1: Who is your favourite Disney character?
*I sourced these challenge questions from several different images I found on Google and put the best ones together.
This was so difficult because how do I possibly choose just one out of the hundreds of lovable Disney characters? I also have so many categories and sub-categories when it comes to my favourite characters. For example, I have a favourite princess, prince, villain, animal, sidekick and more. Would you believe I spent months thinking about this question, changing my mind constantly? For this reason, I decided to add honourable mentions at the end of each post. Finally, when I got right down to it, I decided to go classic. Who have I loved, right from the very beginning? That was easy…
GOOFY!

I have loved Goofy ever since I was little – especially his adorable laugh: ah-hyuck. One of my favourite childhood movies is The Goofy Movie. My sister and I know all the lines and it never gets old for us. When I was younger, my parents took us to Disney Land in California and I could not wait to get a photo with Goofy. When I finally tracked him down, I went to line up but it was too late and he had to leave. My mum said it made her so sad to see me burst into tears, my childish heart full of disappointment.
Goofy is kind, caring and ever loyal to his friends, Mickey and Donald. Did you know his original name was Dippy Dawg? It was later changed to Goofy Goof (yes that’s his surname). He was created in 1932, as an anthropomorphic dog at Walt Disney Productions on May 25th (making him a Gemini, like me). He has been voiced by seven different people over the ages and even has a son, named Max Goof. His deceased wife, Penny, is mentioned in the original Goofy Shorts (short-movies), which makes him a widower. He is described as an eternal optimist, half-wit and gullible Good Samaritan. He also makes an adorable Tsum Tsum!
What I love about Goofy is his gigantic heart. He loves his son and friends dearly and is always super positive. He can go from being a peace-keeper to a fearless and protective companion. He is a character of great merit. For this reason, he is my all-time favourite Disney character. If you have not yet watched The Goofy Movie, please do. It is seriously one of the best cartoon films out there.
Honourable Mention:
Jack Skellington from Nightmare Before Christmas
Who is your favourite Disney character? What makes them special to you? I’ll see you tomorrow for Day 2!
