Hi all!
Today I am sharing The Myers Briggs Book Tag. It was created by Jaded Reader on Book Tube. You can check out her original video here. The Myers Briggs test is an introspective, personality quiz, that indicates differing psychological preferences, in how people perceive the world around them and make decisions. Several years ago, when I worked at Melbourne Business School, I had to be properly tested, in order to attend a leadership course. It was during that program, that I discovered I was an INFJ, which is a very rare type, making up less than one percent of the population. Since then, I’ve taken the test two more times and gotten the same result. If you want to find out what you are, you can take this short, free test here.
In order to fulfill the requirements of this tag, you need to learn your type first. The first acronyms review whether you are more I (Introvert) or E (Extrovert). The second acronyms assess whether you make decisions based on S (Sensing) or N (Intuition). The third acronyms conclude if you tend to follow T (Thinking) or F (Feeling) in everyday life. And finally, the fourth acronyms indicate if you lean more toward J (Judging) or P (Perceiving). Following that, you need to answer the prompts, according to your type. You can find all of the questions here. Without further ado, here is my personal take on the tag!
(I) INTROVERT: You can be outgoing, but need to recharge with some calming solitude, Where is your favorite place to read & unwind? Why is this little oasis, where you choose to go?

My favourite place to read is in a nice, hot bath. I love soaking in a tub, filled with sweet-smelling bath salts and a good book. I’m at my most relaxed in this environment. It’s a quiet, calming location for me to absorb the words on the page.
(N) INTUITION: Some books are meant to be understood and others are meant to be explored. What book or character stands for an idea that is deeply meaningful to you?
I am going to go with the novel: Maybe in Another Life by Taylor Jenkins Reid. It explores a Sliding Doors concept, where two very different stories play out, based on one decision. It discusses the philosophy of fate. Are our choices are already predetermined, or are we entirely accountable for the path life takes us? I believe that everything happens for a reason. This book focuses on an ideology that is deeply meaningful to me. I intuitively make decisions, believing what my gut is telling me.

(F) FEELING: Not everything needs to be realistic. Where is the fun in a world with limits? Which fantasy world do you find so atmospheric, you slip inside and never want to leave?

It’s probably everyone’s answer, but I have to be honest. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from the Harry Potter series, is without a doubt, the most atmospheric, fantasy world for me. I would never want to leave this prestigious magical school, if I was a student there. I feel the characters, the world, the plot, the atmosphere and the emotions that come from the pages.
(J) JUDGING: All play and no work leads to chaotic disorder and anarchy. How do you structure and balance your reading, blogging, and personal life, to better use your time?

Being a stay-at-home mother, with only one child, makes it a lot easier to priortise reading and blogging. When our daughter naps, or after she goes to bed at night, that time is mine to use as I will. My blog, reading and writing are my biggest passions, so it’s not difficult to make time for them. With my anxious personality, I like things structured and fixed. Anything that is flexible and open-ended, tends to make me nervous. I think that’s why I am so vigilant with my blogging. No matter what happens, you will always get a post from me every Monday morning. I’m not a last minute person and I definitely don’t let plans form as they go. I schedule all of my posts ahead of time.
INFJ: THE COUNSELOR: Yes, we’re a bit odd, but we’re also filled with intuition and empathy. What is a book you would recommend to a friend having a hard time.

When I’m having a hard time, I want to read a story that has a happy ending, with plenty of feels along the way. The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson, is the perfect example!
Andie has a plan and she always sticks to the plan. Future? A top tier medical school. Dad? Avoid as much as possible (which isn’t hard, considering he’s a Congressman and never around). Friends? Palmer, Bri, and Toby – pretty much the most awesome people on the planet. Relationships? No one’s worth more than three weeks. It’s no surprise she’s got her summer all planned out too. Until a political scandal cancels her summer pre-med internship, landing both her and her Dad back in the same house, for the first time in years. Suddenly, she’s doing things that aren’t Andie at all: working as a dog walker, doing an epic scavenger hunt with her dad and maybe, just maybe, letting the super cute Clark in closer than expected. Palmer, Bri and Toby tell her to embrace all the chaos, but can she?
I love this book so much! It makes me very happy. Read it if you’re feeling blue and need a pick-me-up. It is the perfect INFJ recommendation!
I hope you enjoyed this fun and different book tag! What type are you? Thanks for reading.
Peace & Love xoxo
