Blogmas – The Christmas Tag!

Hi all!

Welcome to Blogmas! I thought the best way to kick-start things, was by doing The Christmas Tag. I sourced these questions from Root Report. Let’s get into the Christmas spirit!

1.) As a kid, did a sibling ever receive a present that you wished was for you?

I don’t think so. My sister is three years older than me and has different tastes, so I never felt envious of her gifts.

2.) Be honest: do you like giving or receiving gifts more?

I definitely prefer giving gifts. When I was a kid, it was the opposite. As an adult, you can buy whatever you need. It’s much nicer being able to spoil others.

3.) Do you make New Year’s Resolutions? Do you stick to them?

I used to but I don’t anymore. I find it only sets people up to fail. Instead, I try to create a theme. I wrote a whole post about that hereMy theme for 2020 is going to revolve around self-discovery and overcoming past trauma.

4.) Do you visit the poor on Christmas Day?

I have never done it before, but I would like to do more charitable things with my daughter when she’s older.

5.) Have you ever made a snowman?

In Australia, Christmas is in summer, so I have never made a seasonal snowman. A regular snowman during winter however? Yes!

6.) How many gifts do you receive on Christmas?

It’s different every year! When I was a child, I obviously got more. As an adult, I still get a decent amount and feel very privileged for that.

7.) How do you decorate your house during Christmas?

I will do a photo diary during Blogmas, to show our tree and decorations. Stay tuned!

8.) Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

It’s fake! It’s much easier to keep and store away year after year if the tree is fake.

9.) What is your most memorable Christmas/Holiday moment?

I will have a post dedicated to that topic.

10.) Tell me about a person who makes your Christmas very special.

My daughter! I love being able to celebrate with her now. I hope she loves this time of year as much as I do.

11.) Tell me which celebrations you like more: Birthday or Christmas?

Christmas because it involves my daughter and husband. Not to mention, it’s during the summer. My birthday is always cold and wet.

12.) Use one noise to describe how excited you are for Christmas?

EEEEEEEEEP!

13.) What is the most surprising moment on Christmas?

My mum usually leaves my sister and I little stocking fillers, which are always a nice surprise!

14.) What do you like to do on Christmas break?

My husband’s birthday is December 26th, so right after Christmas, we celebrate him. We usually go on road trips or visit the beach before New Years. We used to go away every single year during that time, but since having Abigail, it’s a bit more difficult to do that. Hopefully, we can resume doing that once she’s older.

15.) What Christmas traditions are you looking forward to most this year?

Putting up our tree and my mums. That’s when it really feels like Christmas!

16.) What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received

I’ll never forget being 7 or 8 and opening up my GameBoy Colour with additional game: Pokemon Blue. It was the best gift ever!

17.) What is the worst present you’ve ever received?

I don’t think I’ve ever received a gift so bad it merits being in this post.

18.) What is your all time favourite Christmas food/sweet?

I love eating a vegan Christmas roast and any vegan desserts my mum or sister end up making.

19.) What is your favourite Christmas film?

Stay tuned for that Blogmas post!

20.) What is your favourite Christmas song?

All I Want For Christmas Is You

21.) What is your favourite thing about Christmas?

Being together as a family.

22.) What makes the holidays special for you?

As above, watching my daughter fall in love with this time of year.

23.) What would be your dream place to visit during the holiday season?

Despite not liking the cold weather, I would love to have a White Christmas someday. New York or Moscow would be a dream!

24.) What’s the best part about Christmas?

Being with my family, decorating, eating and celebrating!

25.) When do you start getting excited for Christmas?

November! I also make sure my daughter gets her photo with Santa in November, so the lines aren’t too crazy.

I hope you enjoyed! Thanks for reading!

Peace & Love xoxo
