My Spooky TBR Cart Tour! (October Bookclub Pick Reveal!)

Hi all!

Today I will not only be sharing my new TBR (To Be Read) cart, I will also be revealing The You’ll Read Too Bookclub pick for October! Hopefully this gives new members enough time to pick up a copy; whether physically, electronically or on audio. Feel free to join us. It’s going to be a lot of fun! Without further ado, let’s get into the post.

TBR carts are incredibly popular amongst book-lovers. I ordered mine in rose gold here. Owners love to decorate them, filling them with books they have yet to read. In keeping with the concept of my spooky bookclub, I decided to theme my cart: ‘Halloween Forever.’

Obsessed!

My cart is divided into three sections: 1.) Pumpkins, 2.) Nightmare Before Christmas & 3.) Witches. The spooky decal stickers were found on Etsy. I love how striking they look against the metallic trays.

TRAY 1 – PUMPKINS

On the first tray, I have these adorable felt pumpkins from Etsy, alongside the large Jack-O-Lantern stickers. On the base of each tray, I have quilting pumpkin fabric, that I measured and cut into equal sized pieces. They also came from Etsy. On top of my books, I have two Pennywise figurines, a fake plant and a skull I found in an antique store. It’s one of my most prized possessions. I named him Murray, after the talking skull from the Monkey Island franchise.

This tray holds all the physical books I own, that I haven’t read yet.

TRAY 2 – NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS

On the second tray, I have my beloved Oogie Boogie statue, plus Jack and Sally Tsum TsumsI added the spiderweb stickers for an extra Halloween Town effect.

This tray holds all the books I’ve either borrowed from the library or are from other people, that I haven’t read yet.

TRAY 3 – WITCHES

On the third tray, I have bat stickers on the front and my Shadowhunter tarot cards, plus rose quartz stones at the back.

This tray holds books I’ve either borrowed from the library or are from other people, that I’ve finished and need to return.

October’s Book of the Month!

THE CARROW HAUNT by DARCY COATES!

I am so excited to read this book! Darcy is a female Australian author, who has written many horror novels. However, this particular one, is rated the highest on Goodreads. Released in 2018, it follows Remy, a tour-guide for the notoriously haunted, Carrow House. When she’s asked to host seven guests for a week-long stay to research the supposed phenomena within, Remy hopes to finally witness something spooky. Pretty soon, things start to go horribly wrong. A guest winds up dead, doors open on their own, red liquid seeps behind the wallpaper and a spirit medium wanders the halls at night, in a trance. These mysterious circumstances force Remy to consider the possibility that the ghost of the house’s original owner (a twisted serial killer) is behind it all.

As mentioned in my bookclub post, I will include a corresponding song to listen to and a film/show to watch if you wish. These are purely optional and for fun!

The Song – Haunted by Evanescence

The Show – The Haunting of Bly Manor (coming to Netflix October 9th)

I really hope you enjoy this novel. If you have already read it, feel free to either re-read it or just stick around for the discussion post. I will write up five prompts to talk about and three trivia questions, that will get progressively tougher.

Let me know what you thought of my TBR cart and if you’re planning to join the bookclub. I’ve already had a few people interested, which makes me very happy. Thank you to everybody who has expressed interest so far. All are welcome.

Thanks for reading. Peace & Love xoxo
