The Breath of the Wild Readathon – Round #1.5: The Great Plateau – My Wrap-Up!

Hi all!

Last month, I posted my TBR for The Breath of the Wild Readathon (Round 1.5) The Great Plateau. You can check that out here. It ran from June 27th – July 3rd. Today, I am sharing my wrap-up. As I already have the Glider perk, this mini-round was purely an opportunity to refine my skills, before the next big quest. Without further ado, let’s get into it!

MY WRAP-UP

*Shrine of Resurrection (Camera Trial): Share your readathon TBR list: COMPLETED

I shared it on my TBR post here.

*Owa Daim Shrine (Stasis Trial): Participate in a reading sprint: COMPLETED

I completed my own sprint during that week.

Ja Baij Shrine (Bomb Trial): Read a hyped or highly recommended book: COMPLETED

This horror novella weaves multiple stories throughout. It also includes some poetry. In a nutshell, it follows a character wishing to kill his male lover. At the same time, we get to read a story he wrote about a girl and her brother, who get caught up in a twisted VR game. This novella was truly magnificent. The dialogue and story had me completely captivated. I loved the time-loop aspect. Not to mention, the way it was broken up, made it so easy to fly through. It was definitely worth the hype!

I gave it 4.5/5 stars.

Oman Au Shrine (Magnesis Trial): Read a book with a romantic plot/sub-plot: COMPLETED

I read The Worm and His Kings for both this readathon and another one (click here). I will start off with what I enjoyed. It had excellent trans and sapphic representation. It was also beautifully written. Unfortunately, I don’t think cosmic horror is for me. For a short story, it was extremely confusing and bizarre. I had no idea what was going on for most of it. I couldn’t even tell you how it ended. I don’t like to think too hard when I’m reading.

I gave it 2/5 stars.

Keh Namut Shrine (Cryonis Trial): Read a book that’ll give you chills: COMPLETED

Tender is the Flesh tells the tale of a dystopian universe, where eating human meat is considered the norm. When an artificially designed woman is gifted to butcher Marcos, he finds he would rather keep her, than kill her. I was told this story would completely unnerve me. It didn’t. It was very bizarre, with quite an abrupt ending. I liked some aspects, but felt it went in unnecessary directions. Marcos as a protagonist, ended up becoming really unlikable. I wish the plot had been more linear and less convoluted.

I gave it 2.5/5 stars.

Let me know your wrap-up down below. Thanks for reading!

Peace & Love xoxo
