My 5 Most Anticipated Horror Movie Releases Of 2025!

Hi all!

Today I am sharing my five most anticipated horror movie releases of 2025. Without further ado, let’s get into it!

1.) The Monkey

Coming to cinemas February 21st, The Monkey is an adaptation of a Stephen King short story. Directed by Osgood Perkins, it follows twin brothers, Hal and Bill, who stumble upon their father’s vintage toy monkey in the attic. Little do they know, it is evil. When inexplicable deaths begin to occur, the brothers must put aside their differences and work together, in order to eliminate the spooky simian. My favourite horror sub-genres are cursed dolls and toys. I also love Stephen King. Furthermore, this film is produced by James Wan, my favourite horror director. Finally, it has a stacked cast, featuring Elijah Wood, Tatiana Maslany, Theo James and more. How could I not put it at the top of my list?

2.) Final Destination 6: Bloodlines

Final Destination is one of my favourite horror franchises of all time. I ranked the movies here and shared my five favourite deaths here. The LONG awaited next instalment will be released in cinemas May 16th. Can you believe the last film came out in 2011? With a twelve-year gap between them, it’s no wonder it’s my most anticipated horror film of 2025!

3.) Wolf Man

In the past, I ranked all the Universal Monster films. The Wolf Man landed in my top 3, so I am very excited for the modern reinterpretation, directed by the one and only Leigh WhannellComing to theatres January 16th, the remake follows Blake and his family. When they are attacked by an unseen animal, the family barricade themselves inside a farmhouse. As the night stretches on, Blake begins to behave strangely, transforming into something unrecognisable that soon jeopardises his wife and daughter. It sounds quite different to the original story but that doesn’t sway my enthusiasm!

4.) The Conjuring: Last Rites

This franchise is such a favourite of mine. Check out my series ranking here. I love them all, especially the stories involving Ed and Lorraine Warren. Last Rites will hit cinemas September 5th. It will feature another case the real Warrens worked on when they were still alive. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will reprise their iconic roles and I’m hoping my beloved Annabelle makes a cameo as well. So hyped!

5.) Nosferatu

Last, but not least, we have Nosferatu, which will hit cinemas in Australia January 1st! Directed by Robert Eggers, this gothic, supernatural film follows the obsession between a haunted young woman, Ellen Hutter (Lily-Rose Depp), and an ancient Transylvanian vampire, Count Orlok (Bill Skarsgard). I have heard nothing but amazing reviews so far. It will be the very first horror film I see in the new year. What a way to start!

Thank you so much for reading! Which horror movies are you most excited to see in 2025?

Peace & Love xoxo
