Hi all!
Today I am reviewing new-release, horror: Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come. It hit cinemas this month, allowing me the opportunity of seeing it on the big screen. After surviving the Le Domas family, Grace discovers she’s reached the next level of the nightmarish game. This time, with her estranged sister, Faith, by her side. Without further ado, let’s get into it!

WHAT WORKED:
I have all the time in the world for Samara Weaving and Kathryn Newton. They had such believable chemistry as on-screen, estranged sisters. Having them work together was a great way to elevate a story that was essentially a repeat of the first film. I also like that Ready or Not 2 did not hold back in the gore department. Be prepared for high volumes of blood, gore and brutality. It gets quite intense at times. Furthermore, I enjoyed the colourful cast of characters. It was great to see celebrities like Sarah Michelle Gellar and Nestor Carbonell take on such psychotic roles. I’m never not going to enjoy a ‘game-of-death’ style movie. There was no shortage of fun watching this one.
WHAT DIDN’T WORK:
It’s very difficult to improve upon perfection. Ready or Not is one of my favourite survival horror movies. As excited as I was to be back in this world, by the end, the sequel felt a bit unnecessary. It was a lot of the same thing but less refined. I also think it dragged in the third act. Moreover, the film was highly predictable. You could tell who was going to die first and who would make it to the end. Finally, I know this is a campy movie but the lore expansion veered into the ridiculous. It’s safe to say, the follow-up did not exceed the original.
OVERALL STAR RATING:
I gave it 4/5 stars. A fun cinema experience!
Have you seen Ready Or Not 2? What did you think of it?
Peace & Love xoxo
