I have some very exciting news! My RuPaul’s Drag Race account – Mistress Mercury – is officially here! In today’s post, I want to share the type of content I create and what you can expect from my TikTok, YouTube and Instagram page. Without further ado, let’s get into it!

I would personally like to thank my brother-in-law for designing the logo. It’s perfect!  

1.) Who is Mistress Mercury? 

Well…she’s me! Mistress Mercury is what my name would be if I did drag. It has a very nerdy origin story. It’s a blend of Mistress 9 and Sailor Mercury from Sailor Moon. I wanted to merge my favourite hero and villain from the beloved anime series. I love that my logo (see above) encompasses the colour palette of these two characters. It is also based off the RuPaul’s Drag Race design.

3.) How Did You Get Started? 

I started making TikTok videos in 2023. They started to go viral however, when I launched my ‘default winner’ series. From there, my follower count began to climb. At present, I’m over 7k followers. Some notable Drag Race queens have interacted with me during this time, such as Blu Hydrangea, Tia Kofi, Deja Skye, Envy Peru, Kitty Scott Claus, Art Simone and more. I’m very proud of the community I’ve formed. It’s so nice chatting all things Drag Race with the fandom. 

4.) What Content Do You Make? 

Every video I make utilises the green screen feature. As mentioned above, I discuss ‘default winners’, which are Drag Race winners that won their season by default. This is when circumstances beyond production’s control fall through, forcing them to enact a Plan B. Good examples of default winners are Trixie Mattel, Jaida Essence Hall and Kita Mean. I also have a series where I compare the contestants to their original season vs. their All Stars seasons; reflecting where I liked them better. However, my main gig are recaps. I recap every single episode of every single Drag Race season (including the international franchises). I’ve watched them all and love to cover them. I find it important to uplift and celebrate drag from around the world. I also cover Dragula, Drag Duel and King of Drag. 

5.) Who Are Your Favourite Drag Race Content Creators? 

My absolute favourite Drag Race content creator, Belak Boy, just started following me! I also adore Derek from The Drag Detective, Jack Fed, Runner Eye and Bussy Queen.
