Hi all!
Welcome back to my series titled: Seasonal Splendour. My daughter and I started a tradition of making bucket lists per season; ticking off the prompts as we met them. It’s been such a fun bonding experience, but it has also allowed us to romanticise the different times of year. We completed Spring first and now, here is Summer! Below is the bucket list we made and a photo diary of our adventures. The only one we didn’t get to was ‘Visit a Waterfall.’ Without further ado, let’s get into it!
Seasonal Splendour Part 2: Summer
1.) Visit a Hedge Maze
In January, we went on a summer road-trip to the beautiful Amaze World on the Sunshine Coast. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!
2.) Make Homemade Popsicles
We made delicious homemade popsicles, like the one below. Simply combine lemonade and gummy bears for a fun, sweet concoction!
3.) Read ‘Beach Read’ by Emily Henry
Beach Read by Emily Henry is ESSENTIAL for summer!
4.) Make Christmas Treats
In December, Abigail and I made Christmas brownies for her class. They were chewy but delicious!
5.) Buy Myself Sunflowers
What is summer without sunflowers? I bought a bunch from my local deli and they brightened up our entire home!
6.) Eat Breakfast at a New Cafe
Warm aummer mornings make me think of going out for breakfast. I ate these absolutely delicious vegan Biscoff pancakes at a new cafe near the beach called ‘Eat in the Bay.’
7.) Make a Valentine’s Day Craft
For Valentine’s Day, I bought a heart-shaped wooden box from Kmart, coloured it, filled it with Barbie chocolate coins, tied it with a ribbon and gave it to my daughter. She absolutely loved it!
8.) Watch a Sunset on the Beach
One evening in February, my family went to Point Vernon and watched the sun set over the ocean. It was absolutely spectacular.
9.) Try a New Ice Cream Flavour
What is summer without ice cream? Abigail and I decided to try a completely new flavour. I got Coconut Raspberry Swirl (pictured below) and she got Fairy Floss.
10.) Go on a Water Slide
Abigail was too little for this one, but I attempted the big water slide at WetSide Water Park. It was an absolute blast!
11.) Play Card Games
For Christmas, Abigail received a pack of classic card-games. We spent the summer playing Old Maid, Crazy 8’s, Go Fish, Slap Jack and more!
12.) Use a Disposable Camera
Abigail also received a disposable camera for Christmas and we used it quite a bit. She had a lot of fun taking silly candid pictures of her parents (see below) and her toys.
13.) Build a Bird Feeder
Abigail and I picked up the kit below from Officeworks and built it together. We painted it and filled it with seeds. The birds slowly trickled into the garden but to be honest, we didn’t attract as many customers as initially expected.
Thank you so much for reading! I’ll be back to recap our cosy autumn!
Peace & Love xoxo
